The Human Relations Commission is responsible for, and committed to the enforcement of discrimination law in accordance with the provisions of Division 12 of the Prince George's County Code.

As a 706 status agency with the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, it is also committed to the enforcement of laws filed on the bases of Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act; the Age Discrimination and Employment Act (ADEA); and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
