This division is responsible for the security of the County Correctional
Center seven days a week, 24 hours a day year round. The workday is broken
into three eight-hour shifts, each under the supervision of a major, who
serves as that shift’s commander. There is a captain assigned to each
shift with lieutenants who perform operation and inspection duties.
Sergeants serve as zone commanders to supervise the five sections or zones
of the facility. Correctional officers on shift manage housing units, process
inmates and visitors in and out of the facility, supervise inmate movement,
conduct counts and searches and respond to emergencies within the facility.

To provide accurate documentation, logs and records of daily activities.

To assist the public by providing authorized information in a courteous, professional manner.
The mission of the Security Operations Division is to provide for the care,
custody, control and safety of those incarcerated in departmental facilities
and to provide a safe environment for staff, visitors, and the general public.
