CLARICE SMITH PERFORMING ARTS CENTER

The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center is a premier showcases for university, local, regional, national and international art, theatre, music and dance. This state-of-the-art performing arts "village" occupies 318,00 square feet on a 17-acre site on the university's northeast end. The facility houses several theatres including the Concert Hall and Dance Theater. Performances are ongoing - call for information and schedule. ($) (D)

BOWIE CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS

A new regional arts facility. Located adjacent to Bowie High School, the Bowie Center for the Performing Arts is the product of a unique public/private partnership. The Center will be available to all sectors of the community: public & private schools; businesses, tourists, non-profit groups, community groups; government agencies and more. Everything from a school play or opera to an off-Broadway show can be featured in one of two performance areas: the 800-seat auditorium or 150-seat Bowie Blade-News Recital Hall/Community Room.

HALLAM THEATRE

The Hallam Theatre is an intimate, 200-seat theatre. It is host to a variety of national, regional and local productions. THE INN & CONFERENCE CENTER GALLERY

The Inn & Conference Center at the University of Maryland University College (UMUC) is home to one of Maryland's finest art collections. Established in 1978, the UMUC Arts Program is dedicated to collecting and exhibiting artwork by Maryland artists. The Maryland Artists Collection, a growing, permanent collection, consists of more than 300 works by Maryland painters, printmakers, photographers, and sculptors. Artists represented in the collection include Gladys Goldstein, Herman Maril, Selma Oppenheimer, Karl Metzler, Joseph Sheppard, Philip Koch, Barbara Cooper Hansen, and Aaron Sopher.
